Ishan returns to 'Gate in 2020

Harrogate Cricket Club is delighted to announce that popular leg-spinning all-rounder Ishan Abeysekara will return to St George's Road as our overseas player in 2020.

The Sri Lankan twirler was the joint leading wicket taker in the Yorkshire Premier League North last season, taking 45 wickets at an average of 16.47.

This included three five-wicket hauls and a best of 7/40 as 'Gate's young side managed to avoid relegation, while also lifting the Yorkshire Premier League North T20 trophy.

His performances last season understandably drew a lot of interest, and we're delighted to have beaten off strong competition to re-sign Ishan for 2020.

Ishan proved to be a hugely popular member of the side, and also a massive help and positive influence in the junior section. His enthusiasm for senior net sessions was infectious, with many a batsman challenging themselves against his 'which-way-is-it-spinning' deliveries.

We look forward to his return in 2020 and his continued input into the Club.
